Velô technical requirements

What hardware you need to run Velô: minimum setup, recommended setup, compatible NVIDIA GPUs and what we do not recommend.

Available VRAM is the GPU memory left free for Velô. If the same GPU runs a language model or other workloads, reserve that memory for Velô: if they compete for the GPU, speed drops.

Compatible GPUs

Velô runs on NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA support. For example:

  • NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell: Velô Nodo, NVIDIA DGX Spark and GB10 systems from other manufacturers. This is the reference setup, with 10,000 to 50,000 pages per hour per device.
  • Data center: NVIDIA H100, H200, A100, L40S, L4 and A10.
  • Workstation: NVIDIA RTX A6000, RTX 6000 Ada, RTX A5000 and RTX A4000.

On GPUs other than GB10, speed depends on the GPU model and the system's load. We confirm it in the POC, with your documents and your hardware.

What we do not recommend

  • Laptops, even with an NVIDIA GPU. They slow down from heat and power saving, they go to sleep, they are not built for continuous operation and they are easier to lose or have stolen with clinical documents inside.
  • Running on CPU only. Velô works without a GPU, but with much lower performance. We do not recommend it; it is at the customer's discretion.
  • Shared GPUs without reserved memory, where other workloads can leave Velô without VRAM.

Operation and security

  • Velô installs inside your network and validates its license offline. It can run without internet access, air-gapped.
  • We recommend disk encryption, restricted physical and remote access to the system, and keeping NVIDIA drivers and the operating system up to date.
  • It processes text only. PDFs with scanned pages or images go to quarantine, so no OCR capacity is needed.

License

The license is per device: each server or system where Velô runs counts as one device. Pricing and terms in Pricing and in the Terms and conditions.
